Grants & Scholarships

This money we are asking for will go specifically into our grants and scholarship awards program fund.  This money is used specifically to help the student’s gain the financial freedom they need to continue their educational goals after their primary country supported school programs have ended. Continuing education for the children and their parents in the Stann Creek District of Belize has been a problem for a long time. We have talked to so many Children that do not even plan on continuing school because they know that their parents can’t afford the finance.  We have also talked to teen's that want to continue their studies so they may have a future in their society but they have no income.  We have talked with parents who wish they could take course studies to obtain a job to finance their children's education.  Belize is a very poor country and we at COTA feel we can make an impact on bettering their education with our education grants and scholarship programs.

This project needs to be implemented as soon as we can get funding and needs to continue until there is no more need to help educate persons of financial hardship.

If you are eligible and your application is received and processed prior to your registration, tuition payment will be paid.  The student grant program will provide assistance to cover tuition, fees books, an allowance for transportation, and your related school expenses. Some priority will be given to persons entering an environmentally related field.  Along these lines we would offer jobs to recipients within the organization itself.
